"GETTING AROUND" IN THE CHAMONIX VALLEY

GETTING AROUND ON FOOT
The main street of les Houches (Prarion Ski lift, Battendier sport shop/ski hire, Marmot bar restaurant, baker’s shop etc) is 8 minutes downhill walk from the chalet. 10 minutes further along the street is the Bellevue cable car and a number of bars, restaurants and sports shops. Five minutes further is the church, Tourist Office, Credit Agricole bank, cash point, supermarket and more shops and restaurants. Five minutes further is the ice skating rink which is free of charge for our guests.
The Les Houches downhill ski runs are 8 minutes fairly level walk from the chalet. Les Houches free cross-country ski trails are a 6 minute downhill walk away. Further details: walkingtoandfromchalet and also: chaletinfoenglish

GETTING AROUND ON BUS AND TRAIN
There is an excellent bus service. On arrival we will issue you with a pass giving you FREE BUS AND TRAIN RIDES throughout the valley during your stay. The local bus stop at the Prarion ski lift is just 8 minutes walk from the chalet. There is an excellent bus service running directly from our local bus stop the Prarion ski lift which is just 8 minutes walk from the chalet. This bus links the Prarion and Bellevue ski lifts in Les Houches with Chamonix and all the ski areas in the valley. As well as the busses in the valley there is also a frequent free bus line in the Les Houches village during the day.

PRIVATE TRANSFERS.
On our specialized ski / snowshoe / hiking / activity holidays we include the necessary transfers including a group transfer from the airport. Guests at the chalet on a stay only basis have free use of the local valley busses and trains but can also book private minibus transfers (see below):

RETURN VALLEY TRANSFER PACKAGES:
3 day return Chamonix Valley transfers - 250 Euros for up to 8 passengers.
5 day return Chamonix Valley transfers - 490 Euros for up to 8 passengers.
6 day return Chamonix Valley transfers - 580 euros for up to 8 passengers.
On the six day package you can substitute a Chamonix Valley transfer for a day trip to Courmayeur ski are in Italy
Also on the six day package you can substitute a Chamonix Valley transfer for a day trip to St. Gervais ski area (linked with Megeve)
Both Courmayeur and St. Gervais are included in the "Mont Blanc Unlimited" ski pass.
